FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

What happens if the weather isn´t looking good?

You can cancel your tour with no charge until 2 hours before your scheduled tour and we will give you a full refund. However, some of our guests do not mind riding in some rain, (also, our guides carry rain ponchos) and want to do the tour anyway. If enough people want to do it, we will do the tour just for those people.

Can you customize a ride?

Absolutely! You can request a ride based on the length and time you desire as well as the destination you have in mind. You can request a ride just for you, or with your family or your friends. Either in Lisbon or Arrábida Nature Reserve. We aim to please!

What should I wear?

Our bike tours are casual, so please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Be sure to check the weather and bring layers (i.e. jacket, fleece, sweater). We provide helmets, or you can choose to bring your own.

What´s the minimum number of people that you will take on a tour?

To make it feasible on our end, we require a minimum of 2 people on a tour. If you are unable to book a bike tour as a single person it’s because we haven’t met our 2-person minimum yet. Please contact us in this situation – we’ll do all we can to make it work.

Is it safe to ride the streets of Lisbon?

We take safety very seriously. Our bike tours take you on Lisbon´s safest bike lanes, and safe streets. We provide safety instructions before each tour. Helmets are mandatory.

Where do your tours start?

Our cycling tours in the city of Lisbon start next to Parque Metro Station (Blue line): we will be behind the Metro Station. See our Location page for a map, and information about getting there.

Should I be really physically fit to do a tour with Cycling Lisb on? I haven’t ridden a bike since I was 13 years old!

No, not at all. Anyone who knows how to ride a bike will enjoy our bike tours. All of our tours have a number of short stops while in route so we all can share information, ask questions, laugh and rest when needed. We have put together a bike ride that is suitable for all skill levels, from those who haven’t ridden for years to those who ride regularly. That´s right, our Along the River and the Market tour is a gentle ride through the downtown Lisbon, pedaling down the hill and coasting flat right about 12 kilometers. Our City of the Senses tour is more challenging , the reason is simply because we go up to the Ajuda quarter and Monsanto Natural Park to explore the breathtaking views. That´s why this is an e-bike tour, yes, the eletric bike will make you work as much or as little as you may want. Lisboa is a great city for bike riding or bike tourism, you just have to decide if you want to avoid the hills or get the challenge. You will feel comfortable on our tours.

Do my teenagers get a discount?

Yes, kids are welcome! They just need to be taller than 1,60m (5,2 feet) so they will fit on our bikes. They get a 10% discount on our tours.
